This light, charming, mahogany table, which dates from the late 18th Century, is a nice example of an English Pembroke table. (Named for Henry Herbert the 9th Earl of Pembroke (1693-1751)) It has oak secondary with lightwood edge inlays and two drop leaves with butterfly supports. There is one drawer that sits on square, tapered legs with casters, likely original to the piece. It is a great occasional table that looks absolutely delightful with a glass or two of Merlot resting on top.
Condition: The table is in good condition. There is some repair work to the inlay. There is a repaired break to the front left leg. The casters are showing their age with some deterioration. The brass on the drawer is likely a later replacement. The top has been reset. There is some minor discoloration to the table top, particularly near the edges. There are other minor dings, scratches and cracks typical of genuine piece from the 18th Century. I am happy to take additional photos, please ask!
