This fantastic English tallboy dates from roughly the third quarter of the 18th Century. It is a classic Georgian design with sharp lines and beautiful symmetry. It has a molded and dentilled cornice above two short and three long graduated drawers flanked by canted corners, the lower part is comprised of three long graduated drawers, on ogee shaped bracket feet. Would add classic Georgian charm to any room!
Condition: This piece is in good condition. There have multiple repairs to the cornice and to various parts of the veneer. The more noticeable repair has been photographed. There is an old crack on the face of the top left drawer, that is stable but noticeable. There is a large compression crack on the right side. It is also stable. There is damage to molding where the top and bottom adjoin, which is typical of these pieces. The brasses are later replacements and the the locks have no keys so their status is not known. There are various other cracks, dents, dings, and scratches as one would expect to see on a genuine piece of this age. I'm happy to take additional pics, please ask.
