Circa 1770 - This beautiful chest of drawers, which dates from around the time of the American Revolution, is made of cherry wood. It has a classic Chippendale style with a top over four graduated, chamfered drawers on ogee bracket feet. It would look great in any room with its warm glowing color.
Condition: The chest of drawers is in very good condition. There are numerous old repairs that can been seen on the top and the sides. There has also been some work that can be seen to the front and to the drawer faces, but this is fairly minor. The brass has been replaced and the piece has been refinished at some point. There are other minor dents, dings, scrapes, cracks, and finish blemishes that one would expect to find on a piece of genuine antique furniture of this age.
